1. Why choose us?

2. How long do I have to wait before I receive the product after purchasing it online?
On average, if you are buying from Singapore, we will deliver the product within 3 working days by registered post. As for overseas postage, it might take longer.
3. What happen if the product malfunctions?
If the product malfunctions within 7 days from receiving it, you can bring the product down to our main office and we can replace a new set for you. However, if the product malfunctions after the 7th day, depending on the product model, we may either replace a new set, or send it for repair, as long as the warranty still holds.
4. What if the product is not suitable - can i request for refund or exchange?
Refunding or exchanging of the products are only possible within 7 days of receiving it. There will be no charge for exchanging a product to another, however as for refunding, a small administration fee may be charged.
5. What happened to all the TVB series? Why are there so little?
As of 7th August 2011, we regret to inform all AsiaBox customers that TVB series was temporarily suspended. However it was resumed on 10th September 2011. All TVb series before 10th September 2011 was removed due to this issue. Hence, if you have any saved series you were currently watching in Favourites or Recently Played, you may still be able to watch those shows. Any new series from 10th September 2011 onwards are added and updated daily as per normal. Currently, you can use AsiaLive VOD, IMS reader and veryHD.net to watch TVB dramas.
6. Why did my screen went black after updating the firmware?
If you are experiencing this issue while using HDMI connections, please follow the following instructions.
- Turn off and on the power switch to force shutdown AsiaBox.
- Once it turns on, you should be able to see AsiaBox logo starting up.
- When the screen blacks out and back again, wait 20seconds, and press the “Home” once for about 1 second
- Press Functions.
- Press Right arrow.
- Press Enter 4 times.
- Wait for 20 secs and your TV should be able to display the Main Menu.
7. Why does the VOD keep showing no internet connected when I'm using wireless connection even though it says connected?
When using wireless connection, you have to redo the wireless setup every time you turn on AsiaBox as the wireless connection is not automatic. By changing your IP address to manual instead of DHCP with the same IP address may help this issue. Additonally, you can change the DNS to Google DNS instead of Auto / Manual, under Network options in Setup.
8. How do I resolve or reduce the buffering issue? Does changing the DNS settings help?
The recommended broadband speed is 4mbps. Also, at certain times of the day, broadband speed may flucturate and affect the download speed. Only for Singtel users, this may happen more often. You can also try to reboot AsiaBox and refresh the RAM inside the chipset. Also, check your wireless connection quality, at least 60% to 100% for a reliable high speed connection. Changing the DNS settings may help by following these steps.
1. Go to Main Menu and Choose Setup
2. Choose “Network” from the Left Hand Menu and move cursor to “Configure IP” on bottom right side of screen.
3. Move cursor to DNS Address Setup and press “Enter” on Remote to change from “auto” to “manual”.
4. Enter the new DNS by pressing “Enter” at the Primary DNS field.
5. Move the cursor to “Clear” to clear the current DNS.
6. Enter the new DNS using the on-screen keyboard.
7. Save the new DNS settings by pressing “save”.
8. Your new DNS is now set and saved.
9. Congratulations! You have successfully changed your DNS. You may return to the Main Menu by pressing “Home”. We recommend that you restart the AsiaBox to make the new settings effective by switching on and off the power switch.

9. There are 3 different pictures of the same show with (篮光) & (高凊), how do I differentiate which is which?
篮光 means Blu-ray, which is the highest video quality, followed by 高凊 which means High Definition. As for the 3rd picture without any brackets, it is a normal quality.
10. How do I check for updates of applications or firmwares?
For applications updates, there will be a number in brackets beside “My Apps” which indicates the number of applications to be updated. As for firmware updates, you can go under setup, and choose firmware updates and check for any available updates. Also, we will be posting any new firmware updates on this website. The latest firmwire is pre-installed in AsiaBox HDII.
11. I am unable to update the firmware and it keeps showing Failed ERR029, how do I solve this?
You can reboot AsiaBox and try again. New movies will be available after the firmware upgrade. This problem may be due to an unstable internet connection. Also, you can try rebooting your Internet router also.
12. What does pressing the Power Button actually do?
By pressing the Power button, AsiaBox will be going into a standby mode. To completely turn off AsiaBox, turn off the power switch instead.
13. Which application do I open to watch movies and dramas?
For movies and dramas, please download the applications AsiaLive VOD, IMS Reader or veryHD.net. As for live TV, please download the application AsiaLive TV.
14. How do I change the subtitles of the movies or dramas?
The subtitles of any movies/dramas cant be changed as they are imprinted onto those videos by default. Certain movies/dramas have English subtitles while other have Chinese subtitles. In order to choose different subtitles, you can download the application GouGou, where you can download the movies/dramas and get to choose the subtitles that you prefer.
15. Why can't my 3D glasses I got from Samsung work with the 3D movies shown in AsiaBox?
The 3D movies shown in AsiaBox are Red/Cyan in colour, hence only by using Red/Cyan 3D glasses, you can view these movies. As for the latest 3D glasses, there are made of polarized lens which cannot be used for AsiaBox.
16. What is the difference between AsiaBox and Popbox?
They are the same product with the same Sigma chipset. However, there are two versions of Popbox. One version is U.S-based firmware where there are no “Asia” applications, while the other version is Asia-based which is actually AsiaBox.
17. How do I use GouGou and download movies and dramas?
- With AsiaBox, you can download movies directly from the Internet using the Gougou and Xunlei App instead of using your PC. To use this App, you will need to install an internal 2.5″ hard disk into the AsiaBox unit.
- For further instructions on installing the internal hard disk, please refer to the Installation Guide provided with your AsiaBox.
- Due to height limitations, the largest capacity that can be installed is 750GB.
- After installing the internal hard disk, begin by formatting it using the function provided under “Maintenance”.

- Install the Gougou App from the Apps Market. If you are not familiar with Chinese characters, you can use the following guide to using the App.

- Choose your movie or TV series from the provided list or use Search to find it.

- Select the movie file download type you wish to download.
Download Control Page

- Your chosen download file will be displayed. You can choose to Start, Pause or Delete the download.
SyaBas have removed the application GouGou from the Apps market with effect from Feb 2012.
18. How do I delete films that I no longer wish to keep in the internal hard disk? The films were downloaded from gougou.
You can copy out content, move or delete files from AsiaBox internal hard disk. Press “Functions” on the Remote, “File Mode”, select “Add file to list” for each file you wish to copy, move or delete the selected files by pressing “Functions” again, “File Mode” and then “Copy listed items here”, move or delete to place the files into the hard disk. The function is meant for simple file operations. For complex operations, you can remove the hard disk from the AsiaBox, put it into a USB hard disk casing and connect to your PC.
19. Why my AsiaBox keeps showing Not connected to internet ?
There may be a new firmware available for download, under Setup, follow by Maintenace, and Check for latest firmware. Once you successfully downloaded and installed the firmware, this message should disappear, and you will be able to watch AsiaLive VOD as per normal. You can also proceed with Setup Wizard again to configure your network.

You can download the firmware 923 from http://www.megaupload.com/?d=63LUHLWO , open up the zip file and copy 02-03-110923-21-POP-415-000.bin into your USB drive. Connect the USB drive to AsiaBox and open up Media menu, click run the .bin file and install the firmware.
Or, you can bring down the AsiaBox and we’ll do it for you.

Hello ron, I suggest you change to starhub better haha. I supported singtel since 2000 and ever since their optic fibre, super lots of problems even on my laptop. Cant connect here, cant connect there. Then this year march I switch to starhub, one word : Smooth.
Maybe singtel block connections and force us to sign mioTV, who knows. Anyway, hope they can solve your issue.
Hi Alicia, thanks for the suggestion. However, when I bought asiabox, I was assured by Amconics that there should have any problems with singnet adsl. Amconics should keep to their words if not a full refund is necessary.
I’m also having same problem with ya Ron. Singtel problem. Could not connect to Internet no matter what I try. End up I took the offer to exchange to Combo Box with my asiabox, while wait for the maintainence side to settle with Singtel, then change back to asiabox once it’s ready. Basically both set the same. Damn lots of movies too. Doesnt matter much to me cuz I watch movies only. most importantly, no Singtel problems. But the weird thing is, my other friends also using Singtel play asiabox smoothly, no problems at all. WEIRD. Think not all Singtel users.

What you are experiencing is common with some of the Singtel customers that we have. It may be due to a faulty set, therefore please bring down your AsiaBox to our service centre at Sim Lim Square, and we’ll change a new set for you.

The application Livestation, is made by Livestation themselves, which we have no control over. Let’s take for example the well-known iPhone game, Angry Birds. It is not up to Apple to control and modify the application, but rather it is Rovio ‘s responsibility to constantly upgrade their software to cater to new modes and gameplay.
But as you’ve post, we will take note, and highlight this issue to Syabas and the software team, to get Livestation to upgrade their firmware. Thank you for your feedback.

For AsiaBox to access your Facebook account, there’s a few steps in doing it. Firstly, open up the application Facebook on AsiaBox, there will be a code/serial number and a URL address, take down this code. Secondly, access your facebook account through your computer/handphone, and key in the address. Follow the on-screen steps and you’re done. However, this facebook application is a simplified version, hence, it will not be as useful as that you’ve used on computer.
To check the firmware version on AsiaBox, you can press the Home button until you’re at the main screen. There will be a Setup icon on the bottom right, click that and you’ll be on the setup page. Press the Left arrow, and choose Maintainence. The version will be shown on screen.
The highest capacity for internal harddisk is 500GB, therefore, it will not be able to support a 1TB hard disk.
Currently, we do not carry android, google, sony tv, however, we are in the midst of getting more products into our category. Do check out our product list for our latest gadgets.

Will this work in the US ?

We have customers in Las Vegas, New York, Taipei, China, Hong Kong, Perth, as well as India, who have used AsiaBox and are enjoying it tremendously. Though some of these customers’ internet broadband speed is not as strong as what we have in Singapore, they too are viewing AsiaBox movies without much bufferings.
Reasons behind this may be due to the amount of nearby internet users which may affect the average internet speed; and also depends on the service providers in their country.

when playig the Asia Live TV and facing the no voice /sound. what is going on ? please advice.
The latest firmware have fixed this issue. Do download the latest firmware through your AsiaBox by following the following steps :
1) Press Home button until you are at the main screen
2) Choose Setup
3) Press the Left arrow
4) Choose Maintainence
5) Choose Check for latest firmware update
6) Choose Accept and allow AsiaBox to automatically download and install the latest firmware. This may take a few minutes depending on your internet speed.
7) After downloading and installing, AsiaBox will automatically restart itself.
8) Re-install AsiaLive TV and viola. Sound is back
In the case where AsiaBox doesn’t automatically restarts itself, pull out and put back in AsiaBox power plug to enable force restart.

This Singtel issue has been quite a while. I am using 923 firmware. The problem only happens from 7.00pm to 12 midnight everyday…no internet connection for Asia Live VOD. Youtube is ok.I have already open up telnet server ports for the Asiabox.
Amconics asked me to bring down my box yesterday to change for a new one. But then all the new onesare even having connection problems….so did not change at all but told to wait for firmware upgrade.
Please advise WHEN will firmware fix for Singtel users be available? If not, can you change my box with a Combo box as I understand that Combo box have no problems at all.
Hi Patrick, you can change your AsiaBox to combo box for the time being while waiting for the firmware upgrade of AsiaBox. Just bring down your receipt, AsiaBox, AsiaBox packaging, and we’ll exchange it to ComboBox.

Can you clarify the following for Combobox;
1)Picture menu for selection of movies like Asiabox, not text based
2) Free download…no need subscription?
Will I get back the same Asiabox once the Singtel issue is resolved?
The firmware is different from AsiaBox, hence the movie selection menu is different. There are no subscription charges for Combobox for downloading the movies and dramas.
Once we’ve settled the Singtel issue, all customers will be able to exchange back their AsiaBox.
The Singnet problem has been ongoing for more than 3 months. Pls advice how much longer Amconics need? 1 year, 10 years….
As communicated previously, Singtel had specifically blocked the Internet connection for the usage of Asiabox and there’s no solution to this problem at the present moment. Unless Singtel unblock it, the only thing we can do is to wait. As a result, it is highly recommended that you switch to Combobox where you can watch shows and movies too. To ease your inconvenience, please consider our suggestion. Thank you.

In the first place, your staff should not make those empty claims that asiabox can work with singnet. It is a waste of the customers’ time and also a cause of much frustration. And your offer of exchange to combo box is not useful to me as I already have X6 vod player.
Singtel have indeed blocked a few servers with AsiaBox, however, there are still 80% of Singtel users who ARE able to connect and watch without any problems. Since you have a X6 vod player, it would be redundant for you to get ComboBox. Well, you can actually bring down your AsiaBox and we’ll get you a refund.
Our operation hours are from 11am-8pm daily.

Encountered the same Singtel problem as Patrick Tsang, no internet connection in the evening time everyday (from 7pm to 12.30am morning). That’s the time when everybody want to enjoy watching their favorite programme. Very frustrating.

(1) How to use Rii mini keyboard to enter wireless password when prompt for setup?
The keys that can be pressed on Rii mini keyboard while using AsiaBox are directional and Enter buttons. We have a new application for iPhone users, MobileRC. This application is free of charge and can be downloaded from App Store.

(2) How to fix on the wireless setup as I reboot the unit kept prompt me to setup wireless again or sometime kept loss wireless connectionE?
Enter into Setup, under Netowrk, configure Ip. Change the DNS server to Google. This will solve the prompting of password.
(3) How to display Chinese character if I’m doing streaming from my server via Upnp?
To display chinese characters, you need to change the AsiaBox language to Chinese and the Chinese Characters will be displayed properly.
(4) Currently now unable to run the app for IMS and YouTube. Kept prompting unable to connect to server. BTW my network connection is OK via Ethernet.
The AsiaLive VOD software is changing to a new application called AsiaLive VOD2. This can be downloaded on the 18th November 2011 onwards. This new application VOD2 will slve if not all the connectivity issues in Singapore.Do look out for this new application by then.
(5) GouGou also got problem when downloading, it kept prompting unable to connect to server and error 4096. BTW my network connection is OK via Ethernet.
GouGou is controlled by Open Source and not by us nor Syasbas, therefore, if the links to these movies/dramas cant be read, that means those Open Sourcing servers have closed down. However, there are still many links that are working.

I plug in my external usb dvd drive into asiabox and it says insert cd. i insert an my old dvd which i burn that is NOT css protected into my dvd drive just to test out.But it doesnt detect anything at all. I’ve try it many times. Something’s wrong with my asiabox. Can i exchange for a new box? Why doesnt Sigma 8635 chip support CSS encryption? How do you remove the css protection from a dvd? Any settings that i need to configure?

Please try both the USB port with your external drive. It should work. If not, do insert an USB thumbdrive to both USB to test if your AsiaBox is able to read. If both the dvd drive and thumbdrive could not be detected, you can therefore bring down the AsiaBox with your receipt and we will fix the situation for you, if not exchange a new set. Thank you.

Hi there,
These are the steps for your Singtel port forwarding:
1.) Using your computer / Laptop
2.) Access your internet browser, type in 192.168.1.254 in the address bar
3.) When in the gateway menu select wireless setting
4.) When in wireless setting, select firewall
5.) When in firewall, select firewall setting
6.) When in firewall setting, you will be able to see this line of words:
-Select computer e.g( 192.168.1.XXX )
You can find this IP on your Asiabox under configure IP settings and select it on your PC screen.
7.) When the page has reloaded, you will see the phrase :
“Allow app”
8.) Search for ‘Telnet server’ and add to host item on the right.
9.) Lastly after you have done the steps above, click save and you’re done.

When VOD2 is available, it will not show up as “update”. You have to manually search it under “All” category and download it. We are given the date of 18th-19th November 2011 for the release of VOD2 by Syabas.

Dear Paul,
It has been more than a month since I highlighted to you that some stations in Live Station module do not work e.g France 24, DWTV,…These problems have been present ever since I bought the Asia Box set in July this year. I know you have escalated the issue to Sybas. But they do seem to take their time to resolve the problem. Meanwhile, Live Station has come up with its own update which I can watch on my PC….
On Live TV, the new update does not have the daily programme timings for the CCTV channels present previously. I ( and many others )wouldn’t consider this an improvement…so how ahh?

VOD2 has actually been uploaded into the Apps market. However, it is renamed as LeTV. This is a beta version and we are still in the mist of testing it. Though there are only a few shows in LeTV, this amount is increasing everyday. Do bear with us as we continue to increase the quality and amount of shows within LeTV.

Letv navigation is totally in Chinese which is not good for your non Chinese customers like me. Be more sensitive and ensure livetv is still up while ironing put Letv as i see livetv contents now becoming blank which i assume due to migration to new Letv. I hope Letv will have English language option.

These programs are created by Taiwanese R&D team, and therefore its in Chinese. We apologize that you are having a hard time reading Chinese characters.
To search English titles easily in AsiaLive VOD, please follow the these steps :
- Choose the category
- Choose the country
- Choose the year of the title ( this would be hard, might want to check with google )
This way, the amount of titles after filtering out would be lesser and easier to choose.

I don have problem using vod it’s Letv which is in chinese which I have problem using. Noticed vod content is updated very minimally lately. Will vod continue to operate to cater to your non Chinese users or will Letv eventually have English option?
If there will be less content and no English based app in future for non Chinese customers is exchange to other media box applicable for me?
Yes we’ve noticed the VOD content have been stagnant for quite some time. Please do bear with us until the R&D team update the latest batch of titles and release the next firmware update. Also, both the application you mentioned, will remain as Chinese-based program even in the future. However, for VOD, it is actually easiler to filter out the movies and choose the titles you want to watch.

Asiabox is virtually not updated at all. Is the developer still around to support?

For the past few weeks, AsiaBox have not yet to update its contents due to government political reason in China. One example would be the removal of 天与地 due to unhealthy contents. We apologize for this issue as our service provider PPTV is mainly located in China, which affected much of their daily operations. While waiting for the China Government to settle their political conflicts, PPTV is upgrading their EPG servers as we speak. If you notice, the PPTV apps in iPad no longer show latest HKG TV drama too. Nonetheless, we are still keeping the pressure on and try to get them to release the newest contents on AsiaBox as soon as possible.

New video app is Chinese based and not as good as live vod as cannot save and watch later or fast forward or rewind. Plz update live vod.

Yes, the new application is Chinese Based. We have sent our feedback to AsiaBox and request them to introduce english menu option into this application. AsiaLive VOD is still a more preferred application to use as the function of “Save to favourite”, Search by Actors and Directors and much more makes AsiaBox an unique setup box to view online streaming contents.

CCTV-5 is the only sports channel streamed from china, with chinese audio though. For more details about CCTV-5, you can check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CCTV-5 .There’s UEFA and FIFA cup available. Although the movie list for 2012 is not out yet; series,variety shows,cartoons,documentaries are already showing 2012 contents up to 16/02/2012. Nonetheless, we are pushing for latest contents for all VOD applications as we speak.

Can u provide more info on this dreambox plus?
DreamBox Plus is a new online media player that we carry. It contains more than 100,000 titles in total and can search using either English or Chinese characters. There are no problems with any telcoms so far, and is the best alternative to Singtel cases like yours. DreamBox Plus runs on a different OS therefore there are no apps of any sort. Its a pure online streaming media player.
Also, DreamBox Plus is at a slightly higher price than AsiaBox. You might have to top up slightly depending on your AsiaBox purchase price.

I bought asiabox on 5th october 2011, in Taiwan-taipei since then i am enjoying a lot, watching asiavod movies but still have bufering issue, i have 10mbps connection here, also i found bugs in youtube application sometimes videos doesn’t show any voice and picture very fast. Please let me know when are you going to release new firmware after release 923. Could you please provide the service center contact details in Taiwan in case of if i face some problem with this player.

Great to hear that you are enjoying watching AsiaBox. Buffering issues will be experienced if the AsiaBox server is highly occupied or the internet connections of your area is suddenly weak. Therefore, once a while, you may experience some bufferings. But if it’s too frequent, we suggest you do an update or restore AsiaBox to factory settings under Maintainence tabs.

Hi,
I used android application (MobilRC) to control asiabox, as soon as i open youtube and try to type on youtube to watch videos, asiabox start rebooting every time. Even after firmware upgrade my asiabox reboot once in a day. Need to fix firmware again.

upon error 206 i restart my asiabox but unable to watch malaysia kini app and the asia vod movies produce a screeching sound. for livestation app, some live channel are not working at all such as al-aan tv. what’s happening paul?

Hi Liza,
You can download the firmware 923 from http://www.megaupload.com/?d=63LUHLWO , open up the zip file and copy 02-03-110923-21-POP-415-000.bin into your USB drive. Connect the USB drive to AsiaBox and open up Media menu, click the .bin file and install the firmware.
Or, you can bring down the AsiaBox and we’ll do it for you.

I bought an Asiabox today and when I tried to download shows from Gougou, error 0 message appears with some Chinese message. Why is that so? Do I need an internal hard disk to download my movies? or can I just do it with external hard disk

In order for AsiaBox to download movies from GouGou, you need to install an internal HDD ( external can’t work ) with highest capacity of 500gb. However, some links in GouGou have been removed, therefore, not all shows can be downloaded. Or you may try different formats provided as some are still available for download. So how to check if for working links? Just choose any format links, and if it’s stuck at 0 m/s for some time, that link is dead.

Is there a channel in Asiabox that I can download K POP Music Video?
You cant download music video, but you can stream them. Go under Entertainment, Music Video. There may not be alot of korean MV inside VOD. Most of them are HK/TW. Or you can try doing a search for the MVs you are looking for.

Nice connection you got there. We have quite a number of DNS servers which you can choose from. Check out the drop down list in FAQ no8. The popular one is 8.8.8.8 (Google).

i update ‘mkini’ firmware app on my asiabox but after upgrading the app, im unable to access anything at all.there are no videos at all. when i first bought the asiabox i was able to use this app. Oaul, please kindly fix this app A.S.A.P or roll back the app to the old version.

The latest verion of Mkini is 2.0.7, which on our end, no videos are found too. The provider of this application is under the control of the MalaysiakiniTV.com. Their software developers may have updated a wrong version which caused this problem. Do bear with us until they fix this problem. Thank you.

Hi Mike, it may be due to the high usage during the holiday season which may have caused the heavy traffic. You can try closing the program and opening it again, which will signal the DreamBox to retry the connection.
Hi, I bought the asiabox yesterday n have the following problems n questions:
(1) I am having problem accessing my Mac from my asiabox. I can see the computer listed in the network but when I select it says no content for this server.
I had also tried setting up by adding manually in the SETUP with the IP, Folder name, user n password, but still failed.
(2) When I play my songs from a folder,it will play the one that I select n stops after that. It will not move on to play the next n remaining songs unless I specifically select another song.
(3) I have the subtitle file (.srt) with the same name n same folder with the video file but there is no subtitle when I play the video.

1) Syabas is looking into the problem with the Network function which could not be accessed currently. We apologize for this inconvenience.
2) To allow songs to jump to the next title, you have to create a playlist. Firstly, open up the folder under Media, press function (orange button), select File Media, select create playlist here. A playlist will be created. Next by clicking the playlist, it will play all the songs that is in the folder.
3) To allow subtitles, when the movie is playing, press the function button (orange), and select subtitles. Select ok and the subtitles should appear.

Is there any update on the network access with Mac issue? Most of my media files are on my Mac and if this is not working, the box to me is 50% useless… I checked the US popbox and popcorn hour sites and these boxes have no issues with interfacing with Mac. Pls help!

Hi, I have not seen any new TVB serials on Asia VOD. The LeTV app has TVB serials but the picture quality is not as good as what Asia VOD has. When will there be new TVB serials update for Asia VOD? Also, I noticed that for Asia Live TV, the tv output is 4:3 instead of 16:9. Is there any ways to change this?

For the past few weeks, AsiaBox have not yet to update its contents due to government political reason in China. One example would be the removal of 天与地 due to unhealthy contents. We apologize for this issue as our service provider PPTV is mainly located in China, which affected much of their daily operations. While waiting for the China Government to settle their political conflicts, PPTV is upgrading their EPG servers as we speak. If you notice, the PPTV apps in iPad no longer show latest HKG TV drama too. Nonetheless, we are still keeping the pressure on and try to get them to release the newest contents on AsiaBox as soon as possible.
For the output of Asia Live TV, it cannot be interchange between 4:3 and 16:9 as the standard output from the servers to any media platforms is 4:3.

When will the Asia VOD be back in service with new serials? The reason I bought asiabox is for TVB serials n now it is having issues.

AsiaLive VOD you mean? The current 2012 update for AsiaLive VOD is not release yet. However, a new application ( as good as AsiaLive VOD ) is available in your Apps Market. Just search for it under ALL and you will find it. I couldn’t find the VeryHD.net application under “All” when searching for it. Why is that so ? Please help.
After clicking ALL, move your cursor to the right side. There are a total of 82 applications, and veryHD.net is at the bottom few pages. Just press “Down” and scroll until you see 72/82 which is the number veryHD.net is at. Select it and choose install and viola.
I can only see 64 applications and the is no VeryHD.net. I already have the latest firmware. I bought 2 asiabox sets in august and bring over to USA where I sm staying. Is there anyway to send me the application by email ?
Hi Desmond, since you are using AsiaBox in the USA, there may be some complications involved. As AsiaBox is meant for the Asia market, which means only in Asia region, you will have unlimited access to AsiaBox and its applications. But outside of Asia, some applications cannot be found or accessed, which is happening in your case. What you can do is, if possible, bring your AsiaBox to ANY Asian country, and choose “restore to default settings” under the settings tab. You should be able to load all 84 applications. Following that, install any applications you need before leaving the country, as once you leave the country, you wouldnt be able to receive new applications outside of Asia region.

Dear AsiaBox users,
Though AsiaBox is meant for the Asian region, you will still be able to watch it smoothly outside of this region, E.g. England, USA, Mexico, Russia… However, please remember NOT to update or reset the box to default settings, as this will disable your connection to the server and you will not be able to use AsiaBox.
In the unfortunate event that you accidentally updated or restored to default settings, there are 2 options to get back your connections.
1. Bring the AsiaBox to any Asian countries such as Singapore, Taiwan, Japan, Australia, Hong Kong, China etc.. Connect to any internet connections and update the firmware again. Do remember to test and make sure AsiaLive VOD works before you leave the country.
2. If you are not leaving the country any time soon, you can mail it back to us, and once we have fixed it, we will send it back to you.

What is happening to Asia vod n Asia live tv? When I launch the application now, it is blank totally!!!
Your internet connectivity may be lost therefore resulting in blank application. You can press the Home button and re-open the application again. If the problem persist, try shutting down AsiaBox and reboot it again, or check your AsiaBox internet status under Settings.

I downloaded iMediaShare onto my iphone and ipad2 but the application just cannot detect the Asiabox. All my devices are successfully connected to my home network. Is there any setting in Asiabox that I have to setup? Pls help.
I also saw a newer version of Asiabox (HD II).. how is this different from the one that I had bought just last month?
I have difficulty to connect the AsiaBox HDII to my Sony TV Model:KLD40EX710 using the HDMI cable. Using the component output is ok. I have purchased another HDMI cable but the picture sometimes intermittent. Can anyone advise or having this problem.

I sorry to hear that you are facing this issue. By default, all TVs are compatible with AsiaBox. Have you tried different HDMI ports or TV? If the problem persist after testing, do bring it down to our office and let our staffs have a look. If you purchased it within 1 week ( give & take 1 or 2 days ), we can exchange a new set for you.

Hi Ken,
We do not have the details of when will the latest update be available for AsiaLive VOD. Apparently, ppLive China is solving some local political issues, therefore resulting in the slow update of AsiaLive VOD.
There are few different application you can use to view TVB series :
1. AsiaLive VOD : Use the filter and search under Series, follow by Country ( HongKong/Taiwan ), Year ( can determine from search engines ). This way, all the TVB series in that particular year can been found.
2. veryHD.net : This is a new application, therefore we could not identify which series it have or do not have. Just search under series and all the different TVB dramas can be found.
3. IMS reader : This application consist of different servers, but according to some customer’s feedback, YouKu seems more reliable in terms of quality and speed. However, the titles are split into different parts, therefore, you may experience some “weirdness” while watching the contents.
4. There are also some other applications for watching movies/series from all over the world like Vietnam, Malaysia, or USA.

Hi all,
I am desperate, i may have accidentally locked my setup with the parental lock, but i didn’t set a password, however when i try to unlock it ask me for a password.
Even if i try to set back to factory settings it ask me for a password to unlock the settings.

Bought AsiaBox last year. Like the set, however, some problems requiiring physically unplug power cord to reset asiabox, and the sound quality is bad.
Is this inherent of the source?
Hi Albert,
The only way to restart AsiaBox is to unplug the power cable or by switching off the power supply. This is because AsiaBox do not have a power off button, but according to the manufacturer, this method is safe.
To your next question, the sound qualities are different from movies to movies. A better quality video (blu-ray) will provide a better sound quanlity when compared to a HD or normal resolution video.

Thank you for your post. With regards to your question about the blank VOD, this error is common. This happens when the AsiaBox fails to connect to the server. All you have to do is, press te Home button and exit VOD, and open the VOD application again. If the problem still persist after a few tries, enter into the Setup menu, and reconfigure your network settings. Thank you for supporting us.
PS : sometimes even using wired connections can also have this problem.

1. Will the Asia Box have the latest firmware installed prior to shipment ?
Currently, the latest firmware is already installed when it left the factory and the release date of the next firmware is not known yet.
2. Will the Asia Box have VeryHD.net installed and configured to operate?
By default, all AsiaBox does not have any applications installed ( similar to iphone when you purchase one ). However, we can install some important applications for you prior to the payment, and also configure all settings.
3. Will the AsiaBox have AsiaLive VOD2 installed?
AsiaLive VOD2 was renamed under LeTV instead. However, the amount of movies and series contents are still quite little when compared to both veryHD.net and AsiaLive VOD.
4. Will the Asia Box be fully operational from “out of the box” once connected wirelessly (free wireless donger) to the internet?
When you setup AsiaBox at your location, you need to do some wireless internet settings. Such as searching for your SSID internet name, password ,and viola, you’re done.

Yes the oval shape is the earlier version of AsiaBox. The difference is in their software & hardware configurations. It is also to differentiate from local set and parallel import set. The oval shape are mainly imported from Malaysia which does not have any local warranty from us. Furthermore, these parallel imported sets are not allowed in Singapore and will be rejected from AsiaBox server as we are the only authorised distributed in Singapore.

Just bought AsiaBox (HD II) four days ago. It worked great for two days but I began to experience slow download for AsiaLive. I have Starhub fiber optics connection and it was streaming wireless at 3.9Mbps. Then over the last two days, it slowed to 100Kbps!! I also configured using wired connection and it is still the buffering like forever. Rebooted the box numerous times and resync with modem/router reboot, still no improvement. Speedtest showed 39Mbps download speed. Please help!!!

Was there any settings changed under your modem/router? If not, you can try changing the DNS server on AsiaBox to google DNS instead of automatic or manual. Also, is it just that particular title that streamed very slow or generally all titles? If this problem still persist, you can bring down the set with your receipt and let our staffs have a look. Hi, I live in Brazil and have a 30 Mbps speed band from Telefonica Broadband but I am not able to watch AsiaLive VOD. The movie stops everytime to buffer and I checked the actual speed of movie (using info button on remote control) that varies from 100 kpbs to 450 kbps. I have also changed DNS to what Website recommends but it did not make it better. When I use AsiaLive TV the speed is about 2 Mbps. Is there any other way to get better speeds to watch AsiaLive VDO? I suppose the problem concerns to AsiaLive VDO servers and not to my internet connection, right? Thanks in advance!

I’m sorry to hear that you are experiencing low streaming issue. Have you tried changing the DNS to google instead? In addition, as you are using it in Brazil, you might want to try asking the local telcom which DNS server would provide a better speed as the DNS servers that we’ve put online are mostly for Asian region.

Thanks, Admin. I have already tried to use Google DNS but have not realize any improvement. I also run a program (DNSBench) which tests many DNSs and it concluded that the DNS I am using is the fastest one. Do you think you could inform me the IPs of AsiaLive VDO? I will try to get in touch to my broadband and tell them that I am getting low speeds from AsiaLive VDO and will ask them to test/improve the connection to it. What do you think? Thanks in advance.

The chipset for HDII is different. An improvement from sigma 8655 to 8671, which increases all loading and processing speed. Also, due to the new chipset from Sigma, a browser function will be added into AsiaBox’s apps market (flash non-supported). In addition, at the end of March, RMVB will be supported by Sigma 8671 and above only, which enables the use of open-source online streaming.

I have updated my Asialive and Asialive TV however after the update almost all the latest movies are only showing the trailer not the main movie and all the CCTV channels in the Asialive TV has been displaced by other TV channel.Please advise.

To continue viewing new titles, can you download the app veryHD.net for the latest dramas/series online. Since last week, when I on my Asiabox there isnt any sound but with pictures on TV. Previously was fine but these few days got pictures but no sound. I tried to click functions and unmute the button but doesnt allow me to unmute (the cross mute sign always there).

There might be an error with either the program or AsiaBox. You can try to uninstall that application, or select restore to factory settings under the Setting menu. In addition, you can also try pressing the Functions button, and select TV mode, and choose the appropriate resolution. Hope this helps

Hi, i just bought at IT Show and have streaming issues even after i changed to google DNS. E.g. when running a show, it will run into buffering The internet speed test showed connection 16mbps though. I switched from wireless to lan but the problem persists. By the way, I’m using starhub broadband services and has no streaming issues over my laptop.

We apologize for the late reply as your comment was mixed with the spam mails. With regards to your question, you can restore AsiaBox to factory settings, which removes all applications, and resets the network. After that, redo Setup Wizard and install the VOD apps.
Alternately, (this step is more troublesome), you can call up Starhub, and request for a change in your IP security, from WPA to WEP. Before you call, you can check if your modem server ( 192.168.1.1) allows this changes or not. By changing to WEP, this will improve the connectivity to the server.
P.S. Internet performance varies greatly depending on location, interference and other factors based on your local environment. The ability to stream hi-def video depends on the bit rate of the video and your local internet performance.
I would like to know if hard disk is necessary to use Asia VDO, Asia Live TV, Veryhd.net and IMSreader. Is hard disk only necessary to use with GouGou/Xun Lei?

HDD is mainly used for GouGou app, which have been removed by SyaBas as GouGou are concentrating more on PC platforms. Therefore, the need for the HDD is now mainly used as an internal HDD for copying data from external HDD, and playing it in AsiaBox.

Few months back, the application GouGou was still able to download movies directly into AsiaBox. However, as GouGou prefers the PC platform rather than media player platforms, they stopped all downloads. Therefore, SyaBas removed their application on the Apps market. Currently, there are no other applications to download from. But if a new application does pop up, we’ll notify all customers.

The latest few updates are mostly trailers to upcoming movies and series. We have highlighted it to SyaBas. In addition, AsiaLive VOD are updating other series such as Once upon a time, Grimm..etc. Some 2012 movies/series can be foun under 2011 tags in IMS reader, AsiaLive VOD and veryHD.net.

Hi
Purchased the Asiabox during the IT Show and installed a 2.5″ 500GB drive which is formatted by the unit. Able to browse the internal drive using the remote.
The unit is able to access and play media/music from the Synology NAS using NFS TCP without any issues.
However, I am not able to “map” the Asiabox internal hdd at the Windows PC to copy files to it.
Am I missing something here?

The Asiabox cannot allow mapping of the internal HDD to a PC.
If you want to copy external files to the internal HDD, you need to copy first to a USB thumb drive then use the copy function in the system.

hello, i have just purchased a asiabox at the IT show. i could not connect to the internet thru the ethernet. at the network status STEP 06 got a message that state:network error. unable to connect to the internet. the IP address, subnet mask and gateway number are automatically obtained at STEP 04 .
is there any step that i have may miss out?

Nope you did not miss out any steps. At step 04, you got all 3 IP addresses, but was unable to complete the process at Step 06. Do try restarting the player and redo the setup wizard again. Might be some program error. You can also go into settings menu, under maintenance, choose restore to factory settings and try the setup wizard again. If not, you can always bring down your AsiaBox with the receipt and we’ll exchange a new set for you. However, our next shipment will be available only after a week’s time. Since you’ve highlighted your error here, we can extend the 7-days 1-to-1 exchange for you. Thank you.

If you’re still unable to watch AsiaBox even after allowing telnet server, you can change your set for our DreamBox plus or Mr.Cloud. But the stocks will only be available next week. Thank you.
I have the same issue as Kevin above. I closed and open the app many times but it still shows “could not play, retrying”.
The menu is working, but it cannot play any movie/series/any video at all. I just bought the box during IT Show. Worse, all the other streaming apps are crappy (e.g. LeTV, IMS, veryHD.net). The sound is jerk and video takes forever to load. No issues when I use the same apps on iPad or PC.

All servers are up and working as per normal. Streaming is smooth even at night for TVB series for example. If the video and sound is jerky, it means that your video is still buffering.
You can go under Setup, select network, and choose google under DNS settings. This will improve the buffering. Also by using LAN connection, loading speed will improve alot.
Sometimes, if any of the applications have an loading error, you can press Home and exit and re-open the app again. In addition, when the video starts to load, you can press Pause, and let the show buffer for awhile, before resuming it.
Lastly, as SyaBas technology is diferent from Apple apps Store and Andriod market, there’s no way one can compare them.
P.S. If you find that your AsiaBox has some problems, you can bring it down to our office and let our staff examine it. Do remember to bring along your receipt. Thank you.

I reboot the box and now AsiaLive VOD is working again. The trick is to power down and power up again. Exit the application does not work.

Thank you for your feedback. Rebooting AsiaBox is the final solution for troubleshooting, as it clears all caches and ram. However, some customers find it not so convenient to do so. But am glad that it have solved your issue.

According to SyaBas, they are still negiotiating with PPLive to play 2012 contents. As AsiaBox is a licensed product, in order to play 2012 contents, they have to renew the license. Do bear with us and SyaBas while they sort things out. Thank you.
I brounght my AsiaBox on date 08/03/12, I’m also Singnet (fiber optic) user. The issue is that when i set all network setting(i.e. IP address) into Auto. They cannot establish network connection. If I manual set the IP Address as per Singnet address except the DNS Address setting (Goggle DNS) they sometime can connect but only in 10 minute only.
Morning I try again they cannot connect into internet??

Hi Paul, thank you for the replied, I did the factory default setting last night and started to do a fresh Auto setting and everything went fine included the step 6 connection to internet.
Then, i started to install those software it took about 5 minute or less the AsiaBox loss internet connection.(FYI my notebook still have internet connection) And matter how i try to switch “on” and “off”. And AsiaBox start on with the Red colour screen and it don’t start again for many hours.
May I suggest to you, do you have any in-house service, I think i need your technician come over to my to take a look. Or can i chance to different product?

I’m sorry to hear that you are facing such issues. Btw, the power button on AsiaBox is actually a Sleep function. You have to manually pull out the power plug or switch off the power supply to shut down AsiaBox. Do try doing this step, if not, we could send down a technician and help you solve this issue.

For Singtel users, you have to access your modem website (192.168.1.254), and going into the security settings, and change your wireless security to WEP64 instead of WPA, which will in-turn enable wifi connections on AsiaBox.

As AsiaBox is meant for the Asian Market, I regret to tell you that you’ll have to bring it down to any Asian country and update it. Following that, all apps will appear onto AsiaBox and thus enabling you to download them. You will still be able to stream videos from these apps outside of Asia. But do take note, not to update / restore to default settings while you’re outside of Asian Region. Thank you.

i bought the asiabox at the recent IT show. Really regret my decision on the purchase. from day 1, the setup box has numerous issue from connection to internet to now power on and off/ hanging issue. As of today, my set up box finally died. No matter how hard i try to restart by plugging on and off the box, the set up box will just hang and not even get to the main page. Is there any way for a technician to come down or can I ask for a refund? I really feel that i am not getting anything out of a 219 box.

The karaoke function is working. However, if in your case you are unable to view the karaoke, it means your modem/router/area blocked off the sources, resulting in 0% buffering. You can try doing port forwarding on your modem/router or even DMZ mode to allow all services.
Hi, I saw an update to Asialive VOD app today and I have updated it. This results in the app asking for me to sign up for premium package at $60 USD per year!

This news is as surprising to you and as to us. A subscription was activated by PPTV, not by us, the authorized distributors for AsiaBox.
For those customers whom have updated to the latest version, you can actually downgrade it by Un-installing it, and re-installing it again. This will revert back to the previous version. On the Apps market page, click “Asia Picks” and you’ll see AsiaLive VOD. Select AsiaLive VOD and a setup screen will appear. There will be a Uninstall option, select it. After you’re done, just select install again, and you’ll be back to the previous version. Hope this helps.

After you come over to house to fix up my AsiaBox, I very happy to let you know now (tried for last few night) it working okay for the 1st movie, but as for the 2nd movie AsiaBox still have this problem “buffering” and have to wait a very long time to start the movie and sometime it just hang down there for no reason. Even i do a cold reboot (I wish the AsiaBox have this software to clear out all the old buffer before start a new movie)
But other than that everything work fine.

DO NOT update your AsiaLive VOD to Version2 and above. It will start the subscription status. The downgrade backdoor have been removed, but those with version1 are still able to watch without subscription.

ALL media players in the market do not support Flash player. This applies to both AsiaBox and Mr Cloud too. You’ll be able to access the internet websites but will not be able to play any flash videos. As stated on http://www.myonlinemediaplayer.com/mrcloud-features , flash player is not supported.

I bought the Asiabox in Oct ’11. The box can’t boot up down at all. Not sure if it is power supply or box issue. Is it under warranty?

Just purchased asiabox hd, plugged into singnet adsl 10MBps. speed is super slow at 50-100KB, buffer for 2 minute then play for 2 sec.. practically unusable.

i tried wireless, wired, using google dns, even tried putting singnet proxy all same. Tried other movie series, other app all same. speedtest shows 9.1 MBps, but in asialive vod it is asways slow.
thought maybe my unit defect, but when i tried use my iphone to tether, the movie streams like what i saw in amconic store, i got 3+MBps …

In that case, that means your Singtel ADSL is incompatible with AsiaBox. It is interferring greatly with the connectivity issue, whereas, for your iphone, it streams perfectly. You can try bypassing your router and link directly to your modem, and see if it solves the issue. Hope this helps. Thank you.

My purchase of Asiabox and willingness to pay a premium for it, is based on the fact of that superiority of Asiabox especially the app Asia LiveVOD over lots of other much cheaper boxes in the market and also because of the reassuring and over-dead-body commitments by Amconics.
We have high regards for Amconics and the product represented by Amconics and more so when you swore by the heart that you are the SOLE DISTRIBUTOR for Asiabox.
I’m utterly disappointed by the solutions or alternative offered thus far.
Made worse by the fact that Peggy mentioned that she has 500 or more pcs of Asiabox in stocks not sold. With all due respect, I wasn’t asking to share the profits that she’s made over the years, however much that could be, being the SOLE DISTRIBUTOR of Asiabox. Merely asking to make good what was promised. So please do not give us such inferior solutions or alternatives and don’t give us lame excuses. We are not interested with the profit you’ve made over the years and same goes if you have to suffer losses now.
AND, who is PPTV in this equation? I didn’t know that I have to deal with PPTV when the box was sold to me and never was I told that the MAIN party calling the shot behind AsiaLiveVOD is PPTV that I have to be paying the USD60 annual subsciption to now!!! What assurance do I have on the continuity of the service after paying the subscription to? Does PPTV have all the necessary legal rights? Territorial (Singapore)legal rights included ??? Will all the legal papers involved be shown before payment is made? Will there be a day where Amconics will mention another name that user will have to be paying subscription to? There are thousands of sites where the shows were obtained from … just look at the crawlers that appeared when watching shows from Asiabox.

We’re offering an exchange for Mr Cloud / DreamBox if customers are unwilling to pay for the subscription, though the user-interface is inferior to an USA product such as AsiaBox. Alternatively, you could bring down your player and let our staff exchange to the previous VOD version. Also, according to SyaBas, they are in the midst of producing the open-source app onto AsiaBox which will then hav access to even more free contents, however, this applies to only HDii which have the latest chipset Sigma 8671 chipset.
To highlight your legal rights issue, those apps in your iPad / iPhone / Androids / media players does not have any so-called rights to air in Singapore, but they do in China / Taiwan. As these apps are aired over the internet, such rights do not apply. Similar to youtube or any streaming website you encounter over the internet. You don’t see starhub/singtel issuing letters to youtube or fusion for airing the latest episode of Touch / Big Bang Theory / TVB series or any movies. Hopefully you’ll understand that this is the grey area of internet.
Will there be a day where another server be used for subscription : Maybe. As SyaBas is sourcing for better alternatives to PPTV for free subscriptions but who knows whether if they really change or stick with PPTV. FYI, currently PPTV is the largest licensed server in China and have applications over multiple platforms. Other servers that provide free subscriptions runs on open-source, which is so-called unlicensed.
To help this situation further, we would like you to share your thoughts and views with Syabas and AsiaLive VOD directly – this way, they will feel your anguish and frustrations, in hopes that they move faster in getting back your regular Asiabox viewing experience.

It might be your internet speed or the asiabox server. You could try playing asiabox at another location to test. Also, I’m sorry to hear that you’ve accidentally updated the LiveVOD. We’ve unable to restore the previous settings while your player is in Malaysia. It will be possible if you could send down your player + receipt + thumbdrive to our office and once we’ve upgraded your set, we’ll send it back.

I believe PPTV is constantly upgrading and changing their contents. Previously, Scott Pilgrim / X-men 1st class was removed from the list, but after awhile it came back with even sharper qualities. This was the same for other titles too. Therefore, I do hope that you can bear with them for awhile till they put those titles back onto the list.

Bought asiabox from amconics on 8 June 2012 during the pc show in Suntec. Was expecting to be given asiabox hd2, but today just found out that I was given asiabox without the hd2. In the PC Show, amconics was showing the hd2. Why?

Have you tried using port forwarding?
These are the steps for your Singtel port forwarding:
1.) Using your computer / Laptop
2.) Access your internet browser, type in 192.168.1.254 in the address bar
3.) When in the gateway menu select wireless setting
4.) When in wireless setting, select firewall
5.) When in firewall, select firewall setting
6.) When in firewall setting, you will be able to see this line of words:
-Select computer e.g( 192.168.1.XXX )
You can find this IP on your Asiabox under configure IP settings and select it on your PC screen.
7.) When the page has reloaded, you will see the phrase :
“Allow app”
8.) Search for ‘Telnet server’ and add to host item on the right.
9.) Lastly after you have done the steps above, click save and you’re done.

Hi, I have not upgrade to the paid subscription version of Asiavod. But the current old version I have can only see very very old movies ans series.
Can you advise if the paid version have the latest movies and series?
Basically, asiabox is a junk box now as all the other apps are rather useless with limited or old contents. IMS reader, LeTV and veryHD app all cannot work properly.
Please do not sell this lousy product if you fail to deliver.

That’s not true. Even with the old versions such as 1.2.9, the latest showsuch as The Dictator, John Carter BD, Ghost Rider HD, Darkest Hour, Battleship HD and more can be found in AsiaBox. All these are free btw. US series are up-to-date still. The ONLY MAJOR difference now btw previous and subscribed versions are TVB series. To watch TVB series, you’ll have to subscribed to PPTV’s plan. Therefore, even without subscription, AsiaBox still provide a better server/streaming speed than china players in the market.

There are still contents being added onto AsiaBox as we speak. Previously, IMS reader has been shut down prior to PPTV’s subscription, and it currently operational. There are quite a number of TVBS series that can be viewed via this IMS reader. Minor contents are being added daily, but in terms of major contents, SyaBas have been quite silent since April 2012.

Hi i just change to fibre few days ago.. My problem that im facing is sometimes i will have the error “network error” and unable to connect to internet when i choose VOD.. I have no issues on youtube etc. I already tried changing to Google DNS then it works excellent butafter few hours it doesnt work and prompt me with network error again.. Im
Using wireless for my connection.. Then i would go setup again and tried changing the DNS.. Sometimes after a few rebooting it works but then sonetimes i keep rebooting for half hour and still giving me the error..Its very frustrating..

Basically, the issue happens to all users throughout Asia. There’s something wrong with pptv’s server so that’s why the Network Error issue. Even those with subscription plans, also face the same problem. Do bear with them till they sort out their internal server errors. In the meantime, you can use IMS reader (Yes, its back up, again) to watch tvbs/movies.

I bought a series 6 Mini HDMI Android TV Player in your booth at Suntec City earlier. It was marketed as 1.5Ghz with 4gb of internal flash. However upon inspecting in System Properties and diagnostic tools such as Quadrant for Android, CPU was clocked only at 1ghz and with 2gb of internal flash memory.
It may be possible that there was a mistake on what was given to me. I hope you can help.

T4 CPU is 1.0-1.2GHz,GPU Mali400 400MHz,in total, they are 1.5GHz.
Allwinner A10 products are calculated this way.
Normal settings are not accurate and they can’t calculate the total CPU speed. Just like the RAM size, nand flash cant be calcualte acurate through settings too.

I purchase an Android TV Box (Reiie) from Amconics during the Comex 2012. I was told by the promoter that this TV box allow to access to movies, TVdrama & other overseas channels. I will be given a password for the access with no expiry date. After I have made the payment, i wasnt given any password but was told that the password will be sent to my mobile. Till now i have not received any password from amconics. I tried calling amconics the whole day, it seems no one is picking up the call. i also encounter problem with the keyboard, it dont seems to work well. (very disappointed)

There isn’t any latest version of the thumbdrive software. Only the original app have firmware updates regularly. The same version of the thumbdrive allows full usage of the original ones, other than the TVBS series. Hope this helps.

If your IP address is 169.254.x.x, it means that you’re not connected to any internet. Your IP address in Singapore should read 192.168.x.x. Do try setting the DHCP to manual and back to AUTO again to refresh the IP address. Alternatively, try doing a factory reset/restore, however, this will remove any data on the player, so please be advised.
Do check with the LAN cable connection to see if that particular line has connections to the internet. Hope this helps.

It seems to us that PPTV is slowly removing/blocking titles in AsiaLive VOD. Upgrading the software does not seems to help (we’ve tried). However, for the paid version, all titles are up to date and also provides 2012 movies/series. However, as these titles are of 2000 bitrates (twice of previous 1000 bitrate blu-ray quality), the streaming speed required is much higher. We’ve given our feedbacks to Syabas and PPTV for them to either reduce the huge increase , or improve further their servers. Do wait awhile or double-check with our office if you intend to subscribe for AsiaLive VOD.
BTW, with the USD60 subscription, you’ll get the ease of watching movies like no other players in the market. The speed of loading movies is unparalleled (1-5sec for blu-ray quality). Along with series/dramas/documentary/MTVs/variety shows and more. It is recommended to update your Asialive VOD to the latest version via market APP and skip the password input page. From there, press the RED button to alternate FREE/VIP/ALL movies. Do you happened to be using Singtel by any chance? From what we’ve gathered, numerous media players in the market are being affected by the recent change in Singtel’s internet protocol. These players are therefore unable to connect to their respective servers and thus unable to connect to the internet. We have approached Dreambox’s manufacturer to assist in this situation.

Which version of cloud iptv and iptv player are you using? If you upgraded to the latest version, please downgrade it by visiting this page http://www.myonlinemediaplayer.com/2012/09/cloud-iptv-for-android-pocket-pc-thumbdrive/ . There are some glitches and bug which does not allow some users to stream contents from cloud iptv player. If you’re already using the following version linked, you can try upgrading it instead. See which one works fine with your set.

After reading your message, I have been uninstall and re-install cloudtv but it always worked for a while. Frankly, till now I only have used the Cloudtv for less than 3 mths and now it died. I have sent the set to your store for checks and your staff who received my set told me I have to leave the set for repair and probably wait till March ’13 to collect. Can you clarify, as she was looking at my receipt she told me the actual set is different from description ” I bought a T6 but she claim I have a S3 which is the lowest version” Could it be mistakenly replaced when I sent in for my 1st repair?
Is there any other way to hasten the process? This is the 2nd time I brought the set in.
I have suggested a trade-in if possible.

Do you still have/remember your 1st repair invoice number? Will try to trace back and see what went wrong. For T6 or S3, there’s no exchange policy after 7 days of purchase. It only applies to G4, which you’ve purchased as stated in your previous emails. In which case, you’ll have to wait for the factory to repair your set.

Nice talking to you. The version of cloudiptv and iptv player installed by your staff is 1.2.0 and 1.2.7 which are the latest versions.
I had also tried to uninstall them and re-install cloudiptv and iptv player to 1.4.0 and 1.2.0 respectively as per your above reply to Kenny on 21/11/12. Also, I had tried to reset the device by powering off and on. But, the same symptoms remain “No enough space”.

i bought the Android tv box during Sep’12 IT Show & faced quite a series of problem with the set. I came down to ur office already 5 times within these 3 mths.
1) iptv keep buffering (resolve after brought down & was restore at ur office);
2) wifi can’t connect (resolve after u did a factory reset) but later found out;
3) iptv not installed (resolved after copy iptv apps & also saved a copy in my micro sd card);
4) power adaptor faulty & got it replaced with a cost $5 (2 days ago);
And today, my wifi can’t connect again.
I hv used ur recommended guide to do a factory reset again but while installing iptv, it keep prompting data can’t synchronise even after many tries.
Pls help me to get the iptv working & reduce such headache for me, appreciated!

I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you are experiencing right now.
First of all, I would like to ask what’s the distance between your player and modem is? And are there several walls in between too? As they may be affecting your signal reception, causing all these data synchronizing problems.
Next, if there are walls blocking, using a USB lan cable would help a lot in these situation or homeplugs(power lan adapters). Or moving closer to your modem will help too. The signal strength on G4 is strong, but several walls and distances will affect nonetheless.

For Asiabox, the updates are automatic. Meaning everytime you turn it on, if there’s an available update, it’ll get it straight. Alternatively, you can select “Check for updates” under settings.

Without subscription, Asialive VOD tvb can’t be watched. PPTV as the developer of this program, have changed their business plan such that all platforms with PPTV program, have to pay subscription to view their VIP contents, which in this case, USD60/year.
