AsiaLive VOD in AsiaBox gives you Video on Demand access to thousands of movies and TV series from around the world. Asian TV drama and movies are fully searchable by category, country, year of release, genre, etc. You can also search by the first initial characters of the Chinese title of the video in PinYin or by typing the full title in Chinese using PinYin. Unlike using programs such as PPS.tv on your PC, the menu can be viewed in Chinese or English. All movies and TV series played back in their original soundtrack and generally have Chinese subtitles. For selected TV series, you can choose either a Chinese or Cantonese soundtrack. When you select a movie or TV series, you will be shown a summary and a synopsis in Chinese only. For TV series, you can choose the play a specific episode.

So…How do I use AsiaBox??
With AsiaLive VOD, you can forward and rewind just like a real video player. Click on “Info” button on the remote control and use the D-pad to select the “Clock” icon. Click “Enter” on the remote and you can fast forward or rewind to any point in the movie.
While most movie titles will play with a stereo soundtrack, selected Bluray and high definition titles can output Dolby Prologic Surround to a surround amplifier. You can access this via the “Optical” TOSLink output at the back of the AsiaBox unit.
To exit AsiaLive VOD or any other Apps quickly, you can press “Home” on the remote.
To start AsiaLive VOD, click on the Apps icon at the main menu and the AsiaLive VOD app.You will be shown the Home screen with the cover art of the respective video. To search by genre, click the “Left” button on the D-Pad of the remote and you will be shown the full list of videos available from movies, TV series, entertainment, sports, news, games, etc. To search by Initials of PinYin, for example, Three Kingdoms, click on “Search” and enter the initials “sg” for San Guo or choose Title Search and type in “san guo” and choose the respective Chinese characters.
You get to save your favourite show or video when you click “Save” icon. The selected video will be displayed on the “Home” screen as a Favourite.

你保存最喜欢的节目或影片时，点击“保存”图标。所选择的视频将显示在“储存”作为一个最喜爱的画面。
随着 AsiaLive VOD 亚洲实时视频点播，你可以进和快退，就像一个真正的视频播放器。点击“信息”遥控器上的按钮，使用D -键盘来选择“时钟”图标。点击“输入”遥控器上，你可以快进或倒带电影中的任何点。

Did not expect it to work in Abu Dhabi.
Plugged to the lan cable and streaming was great.
Really unexpected.
Movies, series, news, all watchable.
Probably might have to wait for latest movies.

Thank you for your support. As you are using AsiaBox in Abu Dhabi, please do take note that you’re outside of Asia region, therefore, updating of the firmware from AsiaBox might cause disonnection from server.
In the unfortunate event that you accidentally updated or restored to default settings, there are 2 options to get back your connections.
1. Bring the AsiaBox to any Asian countries such as Singapore, Taiwan, Japan, Australia, Hong Kong, China etc.. Connect to any internet connections and update the firmware again. Do remember to test and make sure AsiaLive VOD works before you leave the country.
2. If you are not leaving the country any time soon, you can mail it back to us, and once we have fixed it, we will send it back to you.

There is no sound on the movies download.
and my unit does allowed wireless connection/download. Any assistance?
Hi Jeremy,
Do you mean “download” or “stream” ? Ever since SyaBas removed GouGou app, there isnt anymore apps that allows downloading of movies/series. AsiaBox only provides online streaming. If your player do not have any sound, do make sure that the volume is turned up for both your AsiaBox and TV. Alternately, you can try playing another movies/series in another application to check where is the source of the problem. Else, press the Functions button on your remote control, and select TV mode followed by Auto or whichever TV mode you’re using.

I had bought asiabox yesterday at the itshow and the promoter said it able to watch live soccer programme. However, i search the whole night still cant find any. Please advise and I usually know that Guangdong Sports Channel, CCTV5 and Shanghai Sports Channel show live soccer which also not in asiabox
