AsiaLive VOD in AsiaBox gives you Video on Demand access to thousands of movies and TV series from around the world. Asian TV drama and movies are fully searchable by category, country, year of release, genre, etc. You can also search by the first initial characters of the Chinese title of the video in PinYin or by typing the full title in Chinese using PinYin. Unlike using programs such as PPS.tv on your PC, the menu can be viewed in Chinese or English. All movies and TV series played back in their original soundtrack and generally have Chinese subtitles. For selected TV series, you can choose either a Chinese or Cantonese soundtrack. When you select a movie or TV series, you will be shown a summary and a synopsis in Chinese only. For TV series, you can choose the play a specific episode.

So…How do I use AsiaBox??
With AsiaLive VOD, you can forward and rewind just like a real video player. Click on “Info” button on the remote control and use the D-pad to select the “Clock” icon. Click “Enter” on the remote and you can fast forward or rewind to any point in the movie.
While most movie titles will play with a stereo soundtrack, selected Bluray and high definition titles can output Dolby Prologic Surround to a surround amplifier. You can access this via the “Optical” TOSLink output at the back of the AsiaBox unit.
To exit AsiaLive VOD or any other Apps quickly, you can press “Home” on the remote.
To start AsiaLive VOD, click on the Apps icon at the main menu and the AsiaLive VOD app.You will be shown the Home screen with the cover art of the respective video. To search by genre, click the “Left” button on the D-Pad of the remote and you will be shown the full list of videos available from movies, TV series, entertainment, sports, news, games, etc. To search by Initials of PinYin, for example, Three Kingdoms, click on “Search” and enter the initials “sg” for San Guo or choose Title Search and type in “san guo” and choose the respective Chinese characters.
You get to save your favourite show or video when you click “Save” icon. The selected video will be displayed on the “Home” screen as a Favourite.

随着 AsiaLive VOD 亚洲实时视频点播，你可以进和快退，就像一个真正的视频播放器。点击“信息”遥控器上的按钮，使用D -键盘来选择“时钟”图标。点击“输入”遥控器上，你可以快进或倒带电影中的任何点。

I own a asiabox but recently its not working properly.
1) Everytime I on it, it needs to reconfigure for broadband connection. After setting up, it prompts unable to connect to server.
2) Watching from VOD, movies plays 5mins and stops or jumps to next episode and the situation repeats.
3) I am unable to update software.
How do i resolve the problems? Appreciate your prompt reply.

Hi Xavier,
This issue can be solved by changing the DNS server to Google DNS under Settings, Network, IP config, DNS server. Hope this helps.

since jan till now june my asia box hong kong serial cannot

TVBS dramas are not available in AsiaLive VOD unless you’ve subscribed to the yearly usd60 subscription. This is the same for PPTV applications under iPhone and Android players and tablets. All TVBS dramas are removed except for those really old ones. This is due to the change in PPTV’s policy 2 months back. We apologize for the inconvenience caused.
Hi; when I bought the unit it came with a red thumb drive and wireless donggle. I happened to misplace the red thumb drive and please advise how can I get a duplicate one? Is there any web-site that I can download from.? Thank you.

After being forced to Pay for the VIP fee on my Asiabox 2. Now I keep getting “unable to connect to Internet” message when browsing the movies listing. Tried switching to google dns but still same issue. Is my box is faulty ? Coz it is still under warranty.

There’s nothing wrong with your player. It lies with PPTV’s server side. There’s some glitch or error with their server end, that’s why every user in Asia is having the same problem. Just keep clicking a few more times and it’ll eventually get connected/play/load. Changing to auto/google might help bit, though that’s kinda troublesome. The connection to their server is there, just that it keeps getting disconnected, thus, the multiple clicking.

Hi, recently both the USB ports on my Asiabox are faulty. As a result I am unable to use the bundled wifi dongle. Can I send the unit to the Sim Lim Square sales office for a check?
