bought my asiabox today.
Totally satisfied with it. Streaming is
totally good on my SNBB 10mbps using wifi.

I usually watch them at Guangdone Sports Channel. Sometimes you can also see live on CCTV5 and Shanghai Sports Channel. Not only BPL hor, you can also watch Champion League Football and many many. Cheers and happy watching.

Im saying about the buffering time took to load the movie/drama. There isnt any lag or pause in between the show. Only sometime it will take slight longer time to load at the start of the show. (max 30secs, min 5secs.)I just brought this player to my friend’s house this noon who is using starhub fibre network and tried out.(using direct connection wired to the router) Things work superbly faster than my home’s network 5times! Loading of interface, movies, dramas etc, all r faster alot! (Fastest at 3secs to display things out. Slowest is about 8-10secs)Updates of latest show(drama esp) is just 1 day differences from the actual broadcasting day.I would think, for people who knows how to use “some” online streaming software, pls go ahead and use it. This box is so call an idiot proof software for people who do not know how to use computer and surf for what you wanna watch. This is very simple and easy to navigate without needing you to turn on the comp and can navigate around like watching your tv. that’s y i bought it for my dad who doesn’t understand comp and can direct connect to the tv.
However, everything will depend on your connection. Recommend to use wired direct to ur modem router.-ng_srui, HWZ Singapore
* I am using wifi dongle provided.

That’s very interesting. Youtube is one of my favorite video sharing sites and that’s where I go to every time I want to see a video. But sometimes, it takes years for some videos to load especially when there connection is not good. But now, it’s a great hearing that we don’t need to wait long hours anymore before we can see our favorite videos and that’s a great innovation.

Navigating through the menus are pretty smooth and fast. Love the apps, as it allows me to add just the streaming contents I want , unlike others which already added all for you and slows down the navigation. Haven’t tried playing any of my downloaded full hd contents yet. Probably later today. Will post review on that later. Hope this helps with your purchases. For now, it’s a good buy.
It plays my downloads that wasn’t able to play on my other players. Cool!

this latest fw is da best. it resolves the always keyin wifi pwd when power off problem and the live tv is faster. good good good

restart your asiabox try again. if cannot, try restarting again. den try restore to default (but all apps gone). i error also first time, but 2nd time work. the firmware nothing much diff. i dun use liveTV btw, but now the new firmware.. NO PROBLEMS AT ALL !!! NO BUFFERING at all today !! friday somemore !! Finally..

I just brought my Asiabox 2 weeks ago. But I find I have to do set up wizard everyday when I switch on my Asiabox. I thought this was just a one time set up when I connected it, but I have to do it all the time, which is tedious and takes the fun out of using the box. I tried putting it on standby during the night and that didn’t work. I called up amoconics who told me I had to set the DNS to auto, which I did to no avail. Is there a problem with my particular Asiabox?
Hi Kate,
I believe you’ve heard it wrong. It should be set to Google DNS, instead of Auto/Manual. This will save all the settings even if you reboot the player.

I’ve just bought the AsiaBox at the IT show at Suntec for more than $200. After using it for about a month, it is now asking for another $80 to get an Activation Code (good for 1 Year)before I can use it. The distributor Amconics claim they also didn’t know about this condition. I believe they knew this all along n I feel I’m being duped.

I can assure you that all resellers in Asia are not aware of this subscription, even SyaBas was taken by surprise. PPTV not just enabled subscription on AsiaBox, but on other players in the market as well.

A 4gb thumbdrive would be sufficient enough.
Can anyone tell me how to get the activation code? It is quite difficult to bring it back to sg as I stayed in kl. it is a gift from friend.

Our promotions for Asiabox comes with free 1 year subscription charges. Its stated clearly on the website and by our staffs. This feature was introduced by PPTV when they changed they business plan in April 2012. You can opt for Dreambox or Mini Pc thumbdrive, which works equally well.
