We deeply apologize for the delay, Amconics is doing its best in negotiations with Syabas and AsiaLive VOD to resolve this situation. What Amconics has done thus far is to improve the offer of a 12 month subscription to include 2 more months free – so in fact, you will received 14 months of subscription. Alternatively, we still have around 200 sets of Mr Cloud available for exchange.
To help this situation further, we would like you to share your thoughts and views with Syabas and AsiaLive VOD directly – this way, they will feel your anguish and frustrations, in hopes that they move faster in getting back your regular Asiabox viewing experience.

Can we change to dreambox? Do they both uses LiveVOD ?

I was surprised when I turned on my asiabox and it prompted to updated software and when I clicked the Asiabox VOD icon, it says FREE TRIAL for 7 days… I now have to pay for the movies?? ?
Almost all the movies are VIP!!! This is rip off… How can you expect customers to pay for the box and yet pay again for the subscription??? You should stop selling Asiabox!
This is extremely bad, I wonder what our Consumer watchdog and law will say about that…

How does the exchange mr. Cloud work? Does it perform the same as asiabox without the subscription?
My asiabox bought sep 2011 & i have installed hardisk. Does mr. Cloud allow the same hardisk upgrade where i could download move?
Hi Fan,
Mr cloud does not have the same user-friendly interface like AsiaBox, and you’re unable to install a harddisk inside. However, if you connect a thumbdrive or hdd to it via USB, you can download those movies after you’ve finish watching them into the thumbdrive/hdd. No subscription is needed as it runs on open-source.
Please update on the status. Now even with the old version AsiaLive VOD, there is not much videos to watch.

The latest 2012 contents are being added to AsiaBox as we speak. Such contents include Man on the ledge, wrath of the titans and much more, though these titles are of 700-900 bitrate and some TVB series. More will be added in the future as PPTV gets license to air them throughout Asia. If you happen to drop by our office, we have 3 subscribed AsiaBox demo set for you to view the changes. Thank you.
Can I return my Asiabox HD2 which was purchased about 2 months ago for a full refund?

The activation code is the subscription to PPTV for a year, which is priced at USD60. If its possible, you can mail us a thumbdrive, and include a copy of your sales receipt. We’ll send it back to you with a firmware update.

I purchased asiabox 2 weeks ago and accidentally installed the new updates for liveVOD. Now most of the movies are in VIP category which needs payment. This is very different from what I saw at the demo set at your stall. Would you help to restore the previous setting?

AsiaLive VOD, which is under PPTV, has started their yearly usd60 subscription since April this year and have affected users throughout Asia. You can bring down your thumbdrive and receipt to our main office in sim lim square and let our staff update your asialive vod for you. If you’ve lost your receipt, we’re afraid that exchanging of goods is not possible. However, if your player is AsiaBox HDII, we might be able to exchange with a slgihtly higher exchanging fee. As for old AsiaBox, exchanging would be impossible. We apologize for the inconvenience caused.

If you’ve not updated your firmware, we suggest that you remain it as it is. As the new firmware will activate the subscription which then, you’ll have to purchase the yearly subscription of usd60.

1) Bring your asiabox down to our office and let our staff assist you.
2) Mr Cloud runs on QVOD technology and have lots of contents from China server. Asiabox runs on Syabas and have contents only from PPTV, but at a much higher quality. A exchange fee may be levied. Please check with our office staff for this exchange fee.
3) A HDII sticker can be seen from the front of the player. The mainscreen is grey in colour instead of purple/blue. A harddisk lookalike will be blocking the ventilation on the bottom of the screen for the old AsiaBox.

Hi, since yesterday or so (5 Sep 2012), when trying to watch any shows on VOD, it kept encountered “Could not play, retrying”. Can you explain why are we experiencing this ? Note that i have ever brought my asiabox to yr office previously for the VOD issue.

This issue actually happened few days back. The program keep prompting network error. You’ll just have to press a few more times for it to load and eventually it’ll reconnect itself back. We’ve already contact Syabas on this issue and waiting for them to fix it asap. We apologize for the inconvenience caused.
Pressing a few more times didnt work….the “could not play, retrying” message is being persistently displayed.
Also, i have accidentally uninstalled the VeryHD.net movie / serial application and when i want to install it again, the application is no longer found in the application list. Are there any other ways i can get the VeryHD.net application again ?

The veryHD.net application have been removed by Syabas during April this year. But IMS reader is back up and running. You can search movies/series on it currently. As for the VOD, there’s still the “network error” message, but if you continue pressing, it’ll eventually get through. Restarting asiabox might help abit. Hope this helps.

If you dun mind having a yearly subscription of usd60/year, in exchange for superb streaming speed and blu-ray quality movies/shows, asiabox is your best player. However, Asiabox do not work well with SINGTEL. Please check with our staff before purchasing.

Anyways, for Minix Neo G4, it is the same as ANY android devices (Samsung note, tab, media players) in the market. It does NOT come with any “movies” when you first purchase it. You’ll have to download different applications such as PPTV, PPS, LeTV, QVOD, in order to watch free movies. If you’re familiar with the Google Store / Apple Store, there are no applications that provide the latest movies/series for free, but only those that are quite old (2011 and earlier).
I am not sure what were told between you and the sales person, but if you could enlighten me, I will try my best to help you. If you’ve purchased the G4 without our cloud iptv program serial code, you can still download the same program for free, but it’ll stop every 10mins as it is running in trial version, till you input the serial code given by us. There is NO subscription at all, unlike the previous Asiabox. You’ll just have to purchase the code from us, and you’ll set. You can even download the program to any android devices you have and use the same code too.

But if you’ve purchased both from us, you may have went to the wrong program instead. Do click on the Cloud IPTV (rectangle icon) and input the 11-digit serial code from us, and you’re done. The versions on your G4 should be the latest one, and there’s no need to update at all, until the next version is available.
